Mathew Street Festival

Music fans can hear every song on every Beatles album played live, back to back for the first time in history this August Bank Holiday.

Liverpool’s unique tribute to the fab four across two outdoor stages on Monday, August 30 will mark 50 years since the band first played under the name of The Beatles and is just one of several highlights for the 18th Mathew Street Music Festival.

Europe's biggest free annual music festival, funded by the City Council and featuring over 80 hours of live outdoor music, will boast a record seven new themed stages with one paying homage to the 25th anniversary of Live Aid with a special guest performance by The Boomtown Rats, who scored a
worldwide hit with I Don’t like Mondays.

There’s a stage to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the MOBO awards, which will be staged in Liverpool this October 20.

New themes for 2010 also include a Modfest stage featuring a headline performance by legendary bass guitarist Bruce Foxton, formerly of The Jam.
